Abstract:Three different limestones as raw material were selected to study, the effect of microwave heating and limestone with different structures on the lime activity, and the microstructure of the lime was observed. The experimental results indicated that high activity lime can be produced with microwave heating at low temperature and short holding time. The activity of lime procluced by microwave heating exceeds 400 mL, which is 25 mL higher than that produced by traditional method, and the highest lime activity can be up to 435mL. The lime activity can decline when the structure of limestone is compact and the grain size distribution is not uniform.The microstructure of active lime is porous structure and made up with tiny CaO grain.
