Influence of Flux Injection Through Tuyeres on Burden SofteningMelting Properties and Primary Slag Properties

Abstract:The influence of basic flux injection through the tuyeres on softeningmelting properties of blast furnace burden and properties of primary slag was investigated in laboratory. The results show that with the decrease of burden basicity, the meltdown temperature was slightly decreased, the FeO content in meltdown primary slag was substantially increased, and the fluidity of primary slag was improved. Moreover, it was found that excessive high basicity of sinter would enlarge the basicity difference between meltdown primary slag and bosh primary slag, worsening slag stability. Theoretical calculation showed that by applying the technique of flux injection through the tuyeres, the blast furnace productivity could be improved.
