Abstract:A ladle slag modifier made from aluminum slag of making aluminum ingot or from leftover of electrolyzing Al2O3 was developed. It was applied to produce Q345C containing aluminum steel at Jinan iron and steel company. The results show that the modifier can increase the yield ratio of aluminum as well as get stable aluminum content. It can also increase desulphurizing efficiency, but not increasing the rephosphoration content while decreasing phosphorus content somewhat. There is a tendency of resilication in a permissible scope and reducing the total Fe content in slag when using the modifier. So the optimal adding content of the modifier is 80 kg/ladle according to the test.
