Abstract:The application of dynamic control with offgas analysis for making mediumhigh carbon steel on 95 t converter at Ma′anshan is presented. Suitable methods of charging, slagging and blowing were established, the rate of dephosphorization was improved. Accordingly, the rate of CT hitting at blowing end was increased from 30% to 85% for steels with C in the range of 0.10%~0.16% and P less than 0.012%.The steel quality was improved, the rate of slopping was decreased, the cost was reduced.
