Abstract:Spatial distribution of magnetic field generated around highcurrent conductors during electroslag remelting was studied with numerical simulation. Using ANSYS software, the spatial distribution of magnetic flux density around the furnace body was simulated.The simulation data were compared with measured ones.It was shown, that along the axial direction of consumable electrode, magnetic flux density was high and changed obviously at two ends,and was the smallest in the middle. Besides, the magnetic flux density was reduced with the distance increasing, but was distorted in eddy current field. Similarly,on the surface of ferromagnetic bodies, the magnetic flux density was reduced with the distance increasing. Around the main circuit, the magnetic flux density was the strongest around high current conductors,then electrode, upright column and cross arm, and the weakest was around crystallizer.
