Abstract:The effect of EMBr on inclusion behavior was investigated by means of numerical simulation and then testified on site at Lianyuan Steel.The simulation showed that without EMBr, the floatingup probability was nearly zero for the inclusions less than 50 μm, and 6% for the inclusions larger than 200 μm. With EMBr, the floatingup probability was 25% for the inclusions less than 50 μm, and 38% for the inclusions larger than 200 μm. The industrial test showed that the amount of large inclusions in range of 200300 μm, 300400 μm and larger than 400 μm were reduced by 15.9%, 30.2% and 39.4% respectively. Thus the results of numerical simulation were in agreement with that of industrial test to a certain extent.
