Abstract:For simulating the movement of nonmetallic inclusions and their removal efficiency, a new similarity criterionthe wettability similarity was proposed. The wettability similarity was applied to the water model experiment, by which the mechanism of nonmetallic inclusion agglomeration in liquid steel was studied. The results show that under certain turbulent conditions, the particle concentration and the nonwettability between particles and liquid steel are the main factors to induce collision and agglomeration.
