Abstract:In order to study the changes from the furnace gas to flue gas and the characteristics of off-gas concentration distribution in converter flue, three-dimensional numerical simulation for flue flow, heat transfer, mass transfer and combustion reaction was carried out in the converter flue by using non-premixed combustion model and discrete transfer radiation model. The results show that the whole flue can be generally divided into three regions: combustion zone above the furnace mouth, the combustion reaction between furnace gas and absorbed air near the flue skirt takes place; mixed zone in the flue, burned flue gas and unburned furnace gas are gradually mixed; mixed zone in the elbow part of the flue, the off-gas is further mixed and its components are more uniform. Off-gas sampling probes should be installed behind the elbow of the flue, inserted into the flue about 0.8m from the outside.
