Influence of Unrecrystallization Solution Treatment on Microstructure and Tensile Properties of CobaltFree Maraging Steel

Abstract:Influence of unrecrystallization solution treatment on microstructure and tensile properties of 18Ni cobaltfree maraging steel was investigated. The experimental results showed that after unrecrystallization solution treatment,the morphology of martensites was changed from blocky to stringer, and the dimples on the tensile fracture became much finer; the hardness and tensile strength of the steel in solution condition increased by about HRC 3 and 100 MPa, respectively, but increased less for aged steel.
