Abstract:Abstract: The current study investigated the effect of two different deoxidizers on the composition and number of micro-inclusions and macro-inclusions, and the total oxygen (T.O.) in the gas bottle steels. Using Si-Ca-Ba-Mg-Sr alloy as a deoxidizer decreased the number of micro-inclusions and macro-inclusions, and the inclusions of alumina and Al2O3-CaO in the billet, while increased sulfides and SiO2-Al2O3-CaO. The different deoxidizers affected little on the T.O., and the T.O. were controlled below 12ppm. The yield of Si-Ca-Ba-Mg-Sr alloy as a deoxidizer should be improved in the future studies.
