Abstract:According to deformation characteristics of stretch reducing rolling process,a 3D elasticplastic finite element analysis model was established to simulate the distribution of wall thickness and outer diameter of seamless tube with numerical simulation. The transverse distribution of tube wall thickness was investigated to analyse the formation of bore polygon. The distribution of longitudinal wall thickness at head and tail was investigated to determine the rational length of end crop. The calculated results were comparatively close to industrial experimental ones. The study provides at offline means for improving product quality and minimizing crop loss.
