Abstract:The effects of inclusion removal in tundish with argon bubbling were investigated by choosing aniline simulated as inclusions and silicone oil as slag in a water model. And RTD curves had been measured by means of “irritating-response method”. The process and mechanics of inclusions removal were researched. The results show that in gas bubbling tundish, the ratio of inclusion removal may not be at maximum with the biggest proportion of piston volume. When gas purging at the injection flow area, the probability of bubble capturing inclusion may be increased and the collision between inclusions may be promoted. These all will accelerate the inclusions rising and being removed.
