Abstract:To obtain the distribution of stress and deformation for rolls and work piece during rolling process, the FEM software Lsdyna with threedimensional elasticplastic FEM method was adopted in simulating the plate finishing rolling under the assumption that work rolls and backup rolls are elastic. The construction of FEM model, material parameters, boundary conditions and loading definition are introduced in details. The results of simulation show that the contact surface of rolls is under threedirectional compressing stress. The bending curve of the work roll was obtained. The shear stress manifests on the XY plane of backup roll is alternative. The deformation and the spreading curve of the work piece were analysed.
