Abstract:A finite element model of tension levelling process for stainless steel strip was established based on Abaqus/Standard software. Considering the layout and kinetic feature of tension levelling for stainless steel, feature based model was introduced by adopted narrow strip element. The mesh, which located in the entry of first bending roller, was refined in order to improvement of computational efficiency. Calculated results of elongation were verified to be effective by comparing with measured results. Most of elongation of strip is attributed to action for the first bending roller, the other bending rollers may act as a complement of elongation by analysing the deformation behaviour for characteritic points of strip.
