Abstract:According to the property requirement to steel for weld bogie frame of highspeed train, a low carbon MnCu microalloyed steel was designed, and the continuous cooling transformation and effect of cooling process on the microstructure of this steel were studied in laboratory. It was found that proeutectoid ferrite and intermediate transformation products could be obtained at a cooling rate in range of 130 ℃/s. Cooling rate and coiling temperature have significant effect on refinement of final microstructure.By Accelerated cooling to 500600 ℃ followed by slow cooling, a fine microstructure of quasipolygonal ferrite, granular bainite and acicular ferrite could be formed. The yield strength of steel plate with such microstructure could reach 540 MPa, with a excellent plasticity and lowtemperature toughness.
