Abstract:Abstract: Duplex stainless steel is has high strength (yield strength of duplex stainless steel is two times that of austenitic stainless steel ), excellent corrosion resistance and weldability. In addition, the content of costly metal elements Ni and Mo are notably lowered compared with that of austenitic stainless steel, which has identical performances and the cost is deceased. Consequently, it is wildly applied in petroleum, chemical engineering, shipbuilding, architecture (and other fields). Duplex stainless steel TDS2101 with low Ni and high N is better than (the) common 304(L) stainless steel on corrosion resistance and yield strength, so steel is economized by reducing thickness of the wall on design aspect. Based on above merits, TDS2101 is the perfect substitute for 304(L) in certain fields, and its market prospect is wide in petroleum, chemical engineering, architecture and sea water desalination fields etc.
In this paper,the refining,hot rolling and practice performances of TDS2101 are investigated in term of plate manufacturing.
