Abstract:The influence of finishrolling temperature on microstructure, texture and formability in microalloyed ultra purified ferritic stainless steels microalloyed with Nb was investigated, in which high and low finishrolling temperatures were compared. After hot rolling, the steels were annealed, cold rolled and annealed in the same processes. The microstructure was observed by optical microscopy. The texture was measured by using an Xray diffractometer. The results show that:the sheet with low temperature finish rolling has much finer grain, more homogenous microstructure than that with high temperature finish rolling; low temperature finish rolling was beneficial to strengthening the γfiber recrystallization texture of final sheets and eliminating its deviation from the exact <111> fiber axis. Therefore, the final sheets with low temperature finish rolling displayed an enhanced formability.
