Abstract: Metallurgical result was better when campaign life was less than 3000 and the product of w([C])·w([O]) at the end of molten steel was 0.0023. With the increase of campaign, slag layer covering the surface of porous brick became thicker and combined blowing effect was reduced. After the furnace campaign was greater than 5000, the combined blowing effect was close to LD converter and no combined blowing effect. There was still a gap between our country and advanced countries on combined blowing technology of large converter. It was necessary to optimize the top and bottom blowing process, to improve the metallurgical effect and extend the life of porous brick.
