Abstract: The solidification heat transfer model of beam blank was established based on the principles of heat transfer in the secondary cooling zone and the characteristics of the solidification heat transfer of beam blank; the model were corrected through the test of beam blank surface temperature and shell thickness on site, then the law of the surface temperature of beam blank with time during continuous casting was obtained. At the same time, the existing secondary cooling system was evaluated, and the reasonable secondary cooling technology was put forward. Through the optimization of second cooling technology, the uniformity of the secondary cooling is improved, and the surface quality and the internal quality of beam blank are greatly improved.
