Effect of Smelting Method on Mechanical Properties and Microstructure of 0Cr12Mn5Ni4Mo3Al Bars

Abstract:The effect of the difference between using EAF+LF+ESR and VIF+ESR on 0Cr12Mn5Ni4Mo3Al stainless steel bars in certain factory was searched.The results showed that the latter bars are cleaner and have appropriate residual austenite. Compared with the old small scale bars, tensile strength of new large scale bars are 50-85J higher on the impact energy, with proper Rp0.2/Rm ratio and higher ductility and toughness. A proper w(Cr)eq/w(Ni)eq ratio and forging, rolling technology can lead a better microstructure with less influence from δ-ferrite and more potentiality.
