Abstract:The texture evolution of IF steel during hot rolling in ferrite region and subsequent annealing was analyzed with X-ray diffract. The IF steel plates were rolled using hot mill in laboratory, and the effect of friction between steel sheets and rolls on texture characteristics during hot rolling in ferrite region and subsequent annealing were investigated. The results show that in the case of hot rolling without lubrication, the strong {110}〈001〉 texture and weak γ-fiber texture at surface are formed, which induces strong {110}〈001〉 texture after recrystallization annealing. During hot rolling with lubrication, the intensity of {110}〈001〉 component at surface decreases, but {100}〈011〉 and γ-fiber components increase. So the γ-fiber components increase after annealing. Owing to low friction effect, the center region of steel sheet is full of well-developed α and γ fiber textures during hot rolling process in ferrite region, and the γ fiber become main texture components after annealing.
