Abstract:Due to the adoption of unscientific methods to calculate the blower capacity, there existed a great mismatch between the blast furnace and the blower and an excessive investment for the blast furnace. In general, the aerodynamics method was feasible to determine the capability of blower. However, some calculated results about maximal bosh gas volume showed that those parameters were worth researching in this aerodynamics method. And this method was not easy to manipulate and understand. The empirical and statistical data on bosh gas index of various sized blast furnaces were analyzed and finally a simplified method was proposed to achieve this calculation.
