Abstract:In order to satisfy the requirements of consumers on phosphorus content in steel, dephosphorization tests using double slag dephosphorization method in BOF were carried out in Pangang Group Company Ltd., as well as investigation on actual use effects of BOF dephosphorization special oxygen lance according to production conditions and process features of BOF. During the tests, dephosphorization was done at the earlier low temperature stage and decarbonization which led to higher temperature was done at the later stage. The special oxygen lance with low oxygen supply was used at the earlier stage and then was replaced by the routine oxygen lance in the later deslagging period. Phosphorus content in steel had dropped to below 0.040% and the dephosphorization ratio was 47.9% after slagging-off while dephosphorizing prior period finished. At the end of BOF, w([P]) had declined to less than 0010%, waving in the range from 0.006% to 0.010%, and the average w([P]) was 0.0081%. Dephosphorization ratio was between 84.4% and 92% at the BOF end and for the average of 88.3%.
