Inclusion Control of Tire Cord Steel Based on Refining Slag of Low Basicity and Low Alumina Content

Abstract:The inclusion control of tire cord steel based on refining slag of low basicity and low Al2O3 content was investigated. The technology process of LD-LF-Soft Blow Argon-CC was used to produce tire cord steel in experiment. And when the values of the basicity and the Al2O3 mass fraction of refining slag were controlled about 1.0% and 5% respectively, the mass percent of AlS would be controlled about 0.000 5%, and then the average mass percent of Al2O3 in inclusion would be controlled less than 22%, which is beneficial to plastification of the MnO-Al2O3-SiO2 and CaO-Al2O3-SiO2 complex inclusions. According to the analysis, the removal efficiency of CaO-Al2O3-SiO2 complex inclusion is more obviously than MnO-Al2O3-SiO2 complex inclusion during the process of soft blow argon, and with the rising of mass percent of AlS, which increases with the rising of basicity and mass percent of Al2O3 of slag, the mass percent of Al2O3 in inclusions increases.
