Abstract:The skid of walking beam slab reheating furnace can cause fluctuation on the final plate thickness during plate rolling. Based on analysis on both the structure of walking beam slab reheating furnace and controlling method of plate mill,a controlling method based on setting up on the skid position of slab was established. By using this controlling method,the fluctuation of plate thickness caused by reheating slab skid can be alleviated. After the application of this method,the thickness accuracy of plate produced by Baosteel 5 m plate mill was improved.
