Abstract:Large blast furnaces with volume larger than 4 000 m3 is the concentration represents of new techniques in ironmaking blast furnace. Compared to the blast furnace with small volume, blast furnace with larger volume has lower economic investment, smaller energy consumption and environmental load, higher labor productivity. A large number of 4 000 m3 blast furnaces were built when the steel demands increased dramatically after the year of 2000. In the efforts of ironmaking operators, the operation indexes of large blast furnace have reached advanced levels. In this paper, the operation situation of large blast furnace was analyzed, while some suggestions for existing problems were proposed. In addition, the tendencies of ironmaking in future were prospected, hoping it could improve the development of ironmaking in China.
