Abstract:The distribution of furnace materials in BF was decided by the charging system at the iron making process. Accurately understanding the burden distribution in the blast furnace production process was a prerequisite condition to adjust the distribution of the gas flow and get the ideal thermal balance state. In order to understand the influence of the inclination angle and the shape of the chute on the trajectory of the burden flow, the movement of the burden flow which through the square chute and the circular chute was simulated by the Discrete Element Model (DEM). Then variations of the thickness and the width of the burden flow under different chute angles were obtained. After analyzing the simulated results, the main conclusions were obtained as follows: for the length 2 800 mm chute, the inclination angle of the chute should not be less than 30°, if not, the accuracy of landing position which was expected by operators will be affected. The thickness of the burden flow after through the circular chute was larger than that after through the square chute under the same chute angle conditions. In the radial direction, the landing position of the burden flow which through the circular chute was slightly larger than that through the square chute.
