Abstract:Nonmetallic inclusions always contribute to deteriorated qualification rate of the commercial stainless steel 30Cr13, which were limited to about 85. As a result, inclusions in this steel grade were characterized in details. Information and variations of inclusions including the morphology, chemical composition, size distribution, etc. in refining process were obtained. Based on the obtained results and laboratorial findings, refining process was improved and the technical was optimized. With the use of improved process, nonmetallic inclusions over 5 μm were with decreased numbers, more desirable shapes and size distributions and cleanliness of steel was enhanced as well.
