Abstract:Dealling with the Vnotch cracking of Hbeam, the quality defects of the beam blank are studied. It has reference significance for similar continuous casting production.The Hbeam is produced from the beam blank. Owing to the special shape, the uneven distribution of the lateral surface temperature and the complicate distribution of strain and stress, the high quality liquid steel and high level continuous casting operation is required for the continuous casting of the beam blank. In order to investing at the cracking of YQ235B in the hot rolling in Xintai Iron and Steel Company. The remelting test was carried out by the defective casting billet. The reason and the control method of the surface longitudinal crack of the beam blank were analyzed by combining the ANSYS software with the jobsite test. The results show that the defects are formed in the longitudinal crack of the web and R corner. The main reason for the form of the longitudinal crack is the unreasonable control of the carbon content during the smelting process and the sulfur removalinsufficient in the refining. It is not effective to control and remove inclusions during the continuous casting. The ring temperature gradient is too large in the billet, which cause the cooling of web and R corner are extremely uneven and the stressstrain is too large. After adopting the control measures, the cracking ratio of the Vnotch in the rolling of the beam blank decreased from 80% to less than 5%, and the product quality was greatly improved.
