Abstract:A new method was proposed in which the CO2 gasification of coal char was catalyzed by metallic oxides in the flue gas of converter to improve the conversion efficiency of CO2. The CO2 gasification of coal char catalyzed by metallic oxides was theoretically investigated using thermogravimetric analysis, and the effect of the metallic oxides on coal gasification with CO2 was evaluated by droptube furnace experiments at different temperatures. The catalytic efficiency was evaluated by α,β and LHV values calculated under different conditions. The results indicated that the metallic oxides had significant catalytic effects on the CO2 gasification of coal, and exhibited the different characteristics temperatures. The combustible gas content was increased and the CO2 content was decreased with catalysts. The catalytic efficiency of composite catalysts was superior to others on the basis of the calculation of α,β and LHV values. For the single catalyst, the catalytic efficiency of CaO was better than that of FeO,which was superior slightly to Fe2O3 in the temperature range of 1 0001 200 ℃,and the catalytic efficiency increased with the increase of temperature. The experimental results of the drop tube furnace preliminarily verified the feasibility of using metallic oxides in converter flue gas to improve the conversion efficiency of CO2 and the calorific value of converter gas.
