Abstract In order to clarify strengthening mechanism of Ti microalloyed container strip produced by TSCR (thin slab casting and rolling),SEM, TEM and chemical phase analysis were used.The quadrate TiN particles about several tens nanometers are precipitated before continuous rolling. Nanometer dispersive TiC particles are formed at lower temperature,decreasing the mass fraction of pearlite and cementite. Precipitationhardening by nanometer precipitates is responsible for strength increasing of high strength steels.
