Coupled ThermoMechanical Analysis for Hot Continuous Rolling of GH4169 Round Rod |

Abstract Based on highalloy steel continuous rolling production at Special Steel Branch Co. of Baoshan Iron and Steel Co. Ltd. in Shanghai, a model for coupled thermomechanical analysis for eightpass hot continuous rolling of GH4169 round was built using 3D elasticplastic FEM with ANSYS10.0/LSDYNA, a nonlinear finite element analysis software. The temperature, effective strain and effective strain rate at characteristic points in the crosssection of workpiece were simulated, and the simulated surface temperature was in good agreement with measured one.
