Abstract The VN microalloy steel with yield strength of 550 MPa is produced by EAFCSP route. However, based on the thermodynamics, there are different opinious regarding the analysis of V(C,N) particles in the waterquenched continuously cast slab.The physicochemical phase analysis，SEM and TEM analysis were used to observe the precipitates during EAFCSP process.The effect of Ti and Al on the precipitation of V(C,N) is discussed by use of ThermoCalc software.
