Abstract The VN microalloy steel with yield strength of 550 MPa is produced by EAFCSP route. However, based on the thermodynamics, there are different opinious regarding the analysis of V(C,N) particles in the waterquenched continuously cast slab.The physicochemical phase analysis,SEM and TEM analysis were used to observe the precipitates during EAFCSP process.The effect of Ti and Al on the precipitation of V(C,N) is discussed by use of ThermoCalc software.
