Abstract The application of ladle slag modifier in 50 t LF to aluminum killed 16MnR was introduced. After the application of ladle slag modifier， the desulphurization and dephosphorization of liquid steel was improved with reduction of TFe in refining slag and Al content of the steel conforms to the requirement.
