Abstract High boron ironbased alloy(HBIA) is a kind of new wearresistant material. Boron and carbon are the important elements that can decide boride and matrix respectively, and their contents affect the microstructure and properties of the HBIA greatly.An orthogonal experiment was adopted to study microstructure, hardness and impact toughness of the HBIA with boron content in the range of 1.5%~2.5% and carbon content 0.2%~0.5%.
