Abstract A continuous annealing simulator of cold rolled strip has been developed successfully. SIEMENS SIMATIC S7 is used as the basic automation control system and designed with software Step7. The continuous annealing simulator with high accuracy signals measurement and high precision temperature control is no lower than foreign similar equipments on the precision of measurement and control. Annealing production of specimen with tension and different protective atmosphere can be simulated by it. The functions, equipment structure, development of control system and main performance indexes of continuous annealing simulator are introduced.
