Abstract The achievements in basic study, production technology and product development of microalloying technology in thin slab casing and rolling process in recent twenty years are described, the key problems of different microalloying technology are discribed, the difference between thin slab casting and rolling process and conventional process in terms of microalloying technology introduced important problems to be solved and development direction of this technology are discussed.
