Abstract 1420 cold tandem mill is the only domestic rolling mill equipped with automatic flatness control system on stand 1．DI tinplate，is not only a high added value product but also the representative product of this mill．Based on the theory of target curve，calculated and measured data，a setting model with parameter to calculate target curve for automatic flatness control on stand 1 for low crown DI tinplate was developed．As a assistant method for edge drop control ,the target curve on stand 1 has been used for DI tinplate production with good effect．
