Study on WebWave Formation in HBeam During Hot Rolling |

Abstract The mechanism and conditions of webwave formation during hot rolling of HBeam were studied. First, the critical stress and strain for buckling of the web were obtained by analytical method. Then, the finite element model was established to analyze the rolling process based on elasticplastic finite element method with software of MSC.Marc, and the formation of HBeam’s webwave was simulated successfully.The deformation and stress during hot rolling were clarified.Some parameters of forming web buckling such as halfwave length and the critical ratio of relative reductions between the web and flange were obtained.
