Abstract A mathematical model of controlled cooling of plate is introduced, including models of heat transfer during air cooling and water cooling. Temperature distribution along the thickness and width of plate is calculated with finite difference method. The temperature predicted by this mathematical model is accurate as confirmed by online measured temperature. Both the shape and the mechanical properties of the plate cooled with the model set regime satisfy the requirements.
