Abstract With consideration of product mix, steel grade,varieties of products,production capacity, flatness control performance and the rationality of investment, choosing the right type of strip cold rolling mill and the configuration of the units are discussed. The development trend is also analysed based on 46 cold mills built in the world after 1980.
