Abstract The microstructure of experimental hot rolled low Mo fireresistant steels containing different V were investigated by means of scanning electron microscope and transmission electron microscope. The results revealed that the microstructure of hot rolled steels consists of proeutectoid ferrite and granular structure/granular bainite.Most of precipitates are dissolved in ferrite,and a large number of fine V(C.N) are precipitated after reheated at 600 ℃,which contributes to a increase of hightemperature strength by precipitation strengthening.
