Investigation on Kinetics of Austenite grain growth of 38CrMoAl steel |

Abstract Abstract: Austenite grain growth of nitriding steel 38CrMoAl with two cleanliness levels has been investigated by metallographic technique. The heat treatments were performed in the austenitizing temperature of 940℃ and 1000℃ for holding times in the range of 15-600 min. With the increase of austenitizing temperature and holding time, the austenite grains have a clear trend of growth. The specimens with the highest cleanliness show a most evident growth trend due to the weak pinning effect of a smaller precipitates on the austenite grain growth.At last we have generalized the equation of Kinetics.
