Abstract The technology of selfreforming of coke oven gas was studied by thermodynamics calculation of CH4H2COH2OCO2O2 system. The results show that higher temperature, lower pressure and higher CH4 content are advantage for the selfreforming of COG. With the reforming conditions of 850900 ℃, 0.3 MPa and 14% oxygen, the H2 content of equilibrium system can be enhanced from 60% to 71.5% and 8% to 23.1% for CO. H2+CO/ H2O+CO2+H2+CO of equilibrium system is 97.2% and the addition of equilibrium quantity of reducing gas is 33%.
