Research and Application of Dynamic Shape Control Strategy for Wide Strip Tandem Hot Mill |

Abstract In order to improve shape control precision, it is necessary to analyze both crown and flatness control coupling relation and shape and gauge control coupling relation, and adopt corresponding decoupling design and control strategies. First, based on shape and gauge decoupling design, the coupling relation between crown control and flatness control was analyzed to establish crown and flatness coupling models for different shape control schemes, and the coupling characteristics were analyzed and compared. Then, crown and flatness semidecoupling design was made based on the coupling model characteristics, and then, the crown and flatness decoupling control system and application strategy for hot strip mill were designed to accomplish a complete dynamic shape control system. The operation on one 1580 mm 4 high 7 stand tandem hot mill showed that, the shape control precision was improved with this dynamic shape control system.
