Abstract MgO was added during the blast furnace pulverized coal injection to replace the traditional method of MgO adding in the sintered ore according to the experimental conditions. The effect of light burned magnesite on the coal burnout ratio was investigated. The results shows: MgO helps to improve coal burnout ratio, and further enriched oxygen operation can make the combustion more completely. Under the PCI ratio of 160kg/t in Anyang Steel, suitable amount of light burned magnesite addition is 3%-4%.
