| Development and Production of Steel for 5000m3 Blast Furnace Shell |

Abstract The steel for 5000m3 blast furnace shell was introduced about the R&D process and production. The detailed discussion was carried out from the designed compositions, the technologic route selected and the process of controlled quality in the process of pre-production. The steel for 5000m 3 blast-furnace shell with better macroscopic quality and stable mechanics properties was successfully produced through the process of LF and VD, the strictly controlled compositions of sulphur,phosphorus,nitrogen and hydrogen, and micro alloyed treatment. It will be helpful to establish the theoretical and practical foundation for the micro-alloy steel production in the heavy plate.
