Abstract The self-developed water-cooled mould was used for the development test for super thick bridge steel in Nanyang Hanye Special Steel Co., Ltd. Fine and even internal structure of the steel plate was obtained through composition design, process design for rolling, heat treatment, adopting the development and research process of 100t converter—mould casting—3800mm mill—heat treatment. The performance indexes met the requirement of the relevant national standard. The 150mm Q370qE-Z35 bridge steel plate with large single weight was successfully developed.
