Analysis and Improvement of the Center Segregation in Continuous Casting Slab Based on QES |

Abstract Aimed at the situation that the class A center segregation appeared in slab of Tangshan Medium-Thick Plate Co., Ltd., dynamic cooling system and QES that CCTEC developed were applied online. Based on QES, the impact of production process, composition of molten steel and equipments running status on center segregation of class A were investigated. The results show that the class A center segregation has little influence in the content of S, P, C and tundish temperature. But it closely relates to the variation of roll gap, roll gap control and water of secondary cooling zone. Finally, the incidence of center segregation of class A on slab decreases obviously after raising and using the improvement measures.
