Mold Sticking and Its Propagation Behavior During Slab Continuous Casting |

Abstract Basing on the temperature measurement of a wide and thick slab continuous mold, the horizontal speed, vertical speed and propagation angle of the sticking were discussed. The effect of casting speed and slab dimensions on sticker’s propagation behavior was also analyzed. The results can be helpful to understand on propagation characteristic of sticking breakout, meanwhile, it can also provide basis for thermal couples layout optimization and the development of breakout prediction system.
